Write a Book to Increase Sales

Are you someone that wants to make a bit of extra money each month? I'm sure you are. These days not too many people can afford to turn down extra money or an additional source of income if one becomes apparent. Many people have turned to the internet and home based businesses in order to earn money from the comfort of their own home. While it is possible to make a very impressive second income through home based businesses this is hard without the right kind of advertising.

Promotion of any kind can be difficult especially if you have no experience in the advertising or marketing industry. Most people find search engine ranking and optimization confusing to say the least. Even once they do learn how to optimize a web site and promote their business online it is extremely hard to get to the top of a search engine and then stay there. Before you give up on working at home because you do not know how to promote your products online look into marketing by writing a book! Most people know about promoting a book they have written, few consider promoting a product by writing a book.

Books are a great source of advertising since they can be written to share valuable information while gently steering readers towards the product or service you want to interest them in. It is possible to write books on nearly any subject that comes into your mind. Even if you have no professional writing experience you will find it easy to write about a subject that you are already comfortable with and knowledgeable about. This makes it easier to write a book about the product or service that you wish to market in order to establish you're new, home based, business.

For example, if you are promoting a line of gourmet foods or cookware you can write a cookbook of your own showcasing your own favorite recipes. While writing your recipes you can promote the use of certain foods that are sold as part of the gourmet line you promote or recommend using cookware that you are also selling. At the end of your book you can also include a link to your web site that promotes the items you are selling along with your book and list the web site as a reference source. Many curious readers will visit your web site and buy the products you have recommended so that they can try some of your books recipes.

In addition to being a wonderful way to promote your business, books are also a good way to establish yourself as an expert in your industry. Most readers are going to be impressed by the fact that you have enough knowledge on a given subject to be able to write an entire book. These readers are going to be much more likely to buy a product from a person that they consider to be an expert on a subject than they would be to purchase an item from a nameless stranger who may, or may not, have any experience with the product that they are selling.
