Marketing any product or service can be extremely time consuming and very expensive. This is doubly true if you are someone that is new to advertising and marking. Things can be especially difficult if you have no experience with online sales or promotion and you are trying to establish a new internet based business. Many internet marketing experts counsel patience and waiting but why should a business owner have to wait to earn an income? There are better, faster, ways to promote your products and services.

One sure way to draw attention to your products and services is to write a book. This is one of the fastest ways to reach a targeted audience who will be impressed by your knowledge and interested in the product that you are promoting. When people purchase and read your book they will be able to find out exactly what information you have that can be useful to them and what products you are offering that they will be able to use. Before you get started writing your book keep a few things in mind.

First, always write about a product that you have personal experience with and knowledge of. Most casual readers will be able to tell the difference between writing based on experience and writing based on assumption. Also, writing based on experience will make things easier for you if you do not have much experience with writing professionally. Things will go much easier for any first time author if you are writing on a subject that you are entirely comfortable with.

Secondly, do not make your book to long or difficult to read. It is important that your readers are able to get information from your writing without having to struggle through difficult chapters or confusing passages. You do not want to discourage your readers or tempt them to put down your book without getting to your primary message or sales points. The point of writing a book is to drive potential buyers to your web site quickly and efficiently so you do not want to accidentally do something that can counteract your efforts.

Third, do not forget your primary goal is to promote your product and/or service. Always include a link to your main web site and reference your products as many times as possible. If you have a blog also include a link to the blog within the text of your book so that readers can easily find out more about your products and services. Lastly, always include some sort of contact information inside the text of your book.

Readers will sometimes want to follow up on the information you have provided or verify that you are an expert on the subject you are writing about.

Providing contact information will make readers feel more comfortable and confidant since they will be able to get in touch with the author should they have any questions or concerns. This contact information does not need to be anything more than an email address but many authors will include a mailing address such as a Post Office Box so that fans and readers can send written inquiries. In an age where so many people rely solely on electronic communication offering an offline form of contact will make you seem more credible and professional.
